Objectives of the Privacy Policy
Respect for privacy and the protection of personal information are essential to us, which is why, through this Policy, we intend to protect them in accordance with the laws in force.
In order to ensure this protection, l’Étoilée undertakes to collect, process and share information that can identify an individual only when the latter has consented to it, unless this is permitted or required by law, in which case your consent will not be necessary.
The purpose of the Policy is to inform users of the reasons and the manner in which l’Étoilée, or any person acting on its behalf, will collect and use their personal information. It is intended to be in plain language in order to ensure informed consent from users.
For the purposes of this Policy, “personal information” means any information about an identifiable person or that can identify an individual. To the extent possible, we will anonymize, pseudonymize and/or aggregate this information so that it no longer identifies an individual.
Effective Date
This Policy is effective as of October 1, 2024. It replaces the Privacy Policy dated October 1, 2024
How Consent is Collected
We are committed to obtaining consent before collecting an individual’s personal information. Consent may be express or implied and may be provided directly by the individual or by their authorized representative.
We prefer to obtain express consent, whether verbally, electronically or in writing. However, implied consent may be reasonably inferred from an individual’s action or inaction. For example, providing a name and address to receive a publication or a name and telephone number to obtain an answer to a question is considered implied consent to the collection of information containing personal information. To determine the appropriate type of consent, we consider the sensitivity of the personal information in question, the purposes for which it is collected and the reasonable expectations of an individual in a similar situation.
If we want to use personal information for a new purpose, we will describe the intended use and seek consent again. It is not always possible, particularly in the context of a request from the State, to obtain the consent of the individual to collect, use or disclose their personal information.
We undertake never to disclose this type of information, other than in accordance with this Policy, unless the law requires or permits us to do so.
Purposes of data collection

- To evaluate the performance of products and services. The data is collected to obtain information on the advantages, but also the disadvantages of our products and services, in order to evaluate them and resolve them if necessary, in particular through surveys. This allows us to ensure the quality of our products and services in addition to promoting risk management.
- To protect the privacy of our users. The data collected allows us to verify the identity and protect the privacy of people who communicate with us by telephone, electronically or otherwise.
- To satisfy legal obligations. The data is collected to satisfy obligations arising from laws, regulations or international treaties.

Processing methods used
L’Étoilée attaches the utmost importance to the security of your personal information and undertakes to process it in accordance with industry standards and norms, only for the purposes for which it is collected as described in this policy or in a specific notice to this effect. However, absolute safeguarding of the latter is impossible given the security limitations inherent in transmission via the Internet. The information transmitted to us is therefore ultimately at the user’s own risk.
Terms of access and control of personal information
L’Étoilée ensures that all personal information in its possession is as accurate, current and complete as necessary for the purposes for which it is used.
You have the right to request access to your personal information for verification purposes and to request a correction if it is inaccurate. If you believe that your personal information is inaccurate or if you would like to have access to your personal information, you can make a request using the contact information provided at the end of this Policy.
To the best of our ability, we will provide you with timely access to your personal information. However, for security reasons, we may need to verify your identity.
In addition, there may be circumstances where we are unable to provide you with access to your personal information. This includes when access may lead to the disclosure of another person’s personal information and that person refuses to consent to the disclosure of that information or when legal restrictions apply. If such a situation arises, we will advise you of the reason why we cannot provide you with access to your personal information.
If your request concerns data appearing on third-party web pages or platforms, please contact those third parties directly.
Sharing and reason for sharing personal information with third parties
We do not share your personal information with companies, organizations or individuals outside of l’Étoilée except for our authorized suppliers and partners who need to have access to the information for the purposes listed in this policy and within the limits of this policy, as well as in the following cases:
- With your consent.
- For storage in cloud servers, in which case personal information could transit through third-party jurisdictions. Note that we only retain the services of reputable companies with confidentiality policies.
- For external processing needs. We transmit personal information to other trusted companies or individuals who process it on our behalf, according to our instructions, in accordance with this confidentiality policy, with a degree of data security at least equivalent to ours and in compliance with any other appropriate security and confidentiality measures.
In particular, we use the services of third-party providers to pool, clean and analyze data in the cultural sector so that they can enhance the value of this data and develop tools for the benefit of the public or stakeholders in the sector. To do this, these providers process the information provided in the following manner:
- The data is first prepared, then classified so that it can be used.
- From the prepared data, the provider creates global statistics that contain general and non-personal information, sometimes combined with data from similar sources. This pooled data is then used to establish global statistics such as provenance analyses (mainly via postal codes) but also seasonality analyses or pricing analyses (such as shopping carts).
- This data is then enriched using two different processes. The first is enrichment by using freely accessible third-party data, such as socio-demographic data issued by the Census via the postal code. The second process is called enrichment by inference. Enrichment by inference consists, for example, in the context of a purchase of a ticket at the “under 25” rate, of deducing that the individual concerned is under 25 years old.
- For legal reasons. We transmit personal information outside our company if access to it is necessary to comply with the laws and regulations in force.
L’Étoilée undertakes not to sell or rent your personal information to a third party.
